Financial Career
Landon D. Whaley spent more than twenty years as a portfolio manager, macroeconomic strategist, and investment advisor, building expertise across multiple complete market cycles, from managing non-discretionary client portfolios early in his career to eventually running a global macro hedge fund and separately managed accounts. For most of that time, he published. Every week, without interruption, for 458 consecutive weeks, nearly nine years, he wrote approximately 4,000 words of financial market research: market commentary, portfolio ideas and construction, and global economic analysis. That discipline is the foundation of everything he’s building now. His work in financial services gave him direct experience with how institutional and independent advisors approach investment research, an experience he now applies to evaluating and teaching the AI tools that are reshaping how that research gets done.
